Ride Scout Retreats | Wiltshire Cycling, Glamping & Wild Swimming Weekend
A two-day cycling retreat in the heart of Wiltshire, combining guided rides across the Pewsey Vale and Wiltshire Downs with wild swimming, bell tent glamping, and home-cooked food - all on a private 20-acre woodland estate. Up to 8 guests, exclusively yours for the weekend. From £400 per person.
Overview
Ride Scout Retreats is a small-group cycling weekend designed for people who want to ride properly, eat well, and actually switch off. Based on a private woodland estate near Pewsey, the retreat blends two fully guided rides with wild swimming, long table dinners cooked over a BBQ or pizza oven, and two nights in bell tents. The pace is social throughout. No racing, no rigid itinerary - just good riding in one of England's quietest and most scenic counties.
The site is exclusively yours for the weekend. No other groups, no other guests - just twenty private acres of woodland, dark skies, and no passing traffic.
The Routes
Saturday - The White Horses Tour (85km | 862m | ~5 hours) A Wiltshire classic, taking in four of the county's ancient chalk hill carvings: Westbury, Pewsey, Alton Barnes, and Roundway. The opening kilometres roll through quiet agricultural villages before the first real test at Westbury Hill around 25km. The route then cuts across the Pewsey Vale, with a well-timed pub or café lunch stop roughly 15km from camp. View on Ride Scout: ridescout.cc/route/The-White-Horses-Tour
Sunday - Pewsey Vale Loop (55km | 518m | ~2.5 hours) A softer loop through the hedge-lined back lanes of the Pewsey Vale, with two short climbs to ease the legs back in after Saturday. The route drifts into the historic market town of Devizes for a last lunch stop before the final roll back to camp. View on Ride Scout: ridescout.cc/route/Pewsey-Vale-Loop
Both rides begin and end at camp. If you book out the full weekend, we can build a custom itinerary - road, MTB, or gravel. With Salisbury Plain, the Ridgeway, and King Alfred's Way on the doorstep, the options are exceptional.
