Is this the tour for you?
- We've graded the cycling on this tour as leisurely and moderate. You don't need to be a pro to take part but you should have a basic level of fitness and enjoy being in the saddle.
- Our cycling routes are generally along flat, well - maintained pathways separate from the roads, however, on our way in and out of cities, we will encounter traffic, so you should have a basic road awareness.
- On this tour we cycle 212 km over five days (an average of 42 km per day). We generally cycle on quieter tarmac roads except on day 3 and 6 with some km on good dirt road. Most of the the tour follows the graded Atlantic coast Eurovelo cycling trail. Days 2 - 4 are largely flat cycling whilst days 5 and 6 are in hillier areas with some short climbs and uphill sections. A support vehicle (with room for 2 passengers) will accompany our rides where possible and transports our luggage throughout the trip while the Tour Leader cycles with the group. We have graded the route as leisurely and moderate.
- It can get hot in Portugal, though this part of the country does not reach the heights of further south. If you're travelling on a summer departure, remember to pack light layers and sun protection and carry water at all times.
